Alfred Etchells

Etchells, Alfred W., 69, of North Providence, died Thursday April 25, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Joyce (Boullard) Etchells. Born in Providence he was a son of the late John and Anna (Berube) Etchells.

Mr. Etchells was a patrolman for the Providence Police Department until retiring in 2005. Since his retirement he worked in security at Twin River and the Marriot Hotel in Providence. Prior to his career in the police department he worked for Coro Manufacturing. He had also served in the RI National Guard.

Besides his wife he leaves his daughters, Brenda Manchester and Melissa Woods, both of North Providence, and a son William Etchells of Arizona, four grandchildren, Alexandra Woods, Brandon Manchester, Natalia Etchells, and Kaitlyn Manchester. He also leaves a sister, Joann Ferrar of Smithfield, and a cousin Elaine Pryor. He was the brother of the late John Etchells.

His funeral will be held Monday at 9 AM from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St., North Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Calling hours are Sunday 5-8 PM.
