North Providence

Albert E. Caverio, 67, of North Providence, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025 at the HopeHealth Hospice Center. He was the beloved husband of Doreen (Almonte) Caverio, whom he married in May of 1980. Born in Cranston, he was the son of Beverly (Parrott) Fama.

Albert drove for RIPTA, as well as for First Transit, for which he drove the Brown University Shuttle. He was an avid sports fan, following the New York Giants, Chicago Blackhawks, Boston Celtics, Baltimore Orioles, and the Navy Shipmen. He loved going camping with Doreen, spending holidays with his family, and socializing, making friends wherever he would go.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his in-laws, Sharon DiBiasio (Michael), Laurie Almonte, Richard Almonte (Krina), and Gina Carruolo (Mark). He was the devoted uncle (Uncle Al, the Kiddies Pal) to 10 nieces and nephews and 13 great-nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his canine companion, Teddy, and was predeceased by his pups, Crystal and Holly.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 8:30-10:30 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
