Alan Atkinson, Jr.

Atkinson, Alan, Jr., 88, of Johnston and Melbourne Beach, FL, a retired accountant, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 15th. He was the son of the late Alan and Evaline (Hallowell) Atkinson. He is survived by his loving and adored wife JoAnn (Coe) Atkinson. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 14th.

He was the devoted father of Wendy-Jo Fagan and her late husband Bob Fagan, Cathy Ann Atkinson and her husband Steven Hickey, Christopher Atkinson, and the late Alan Atkinson III. He was cherished by his four grandchildren, Heather Fagan-Morris, Robert Fagan, Alanna Atkinson, Devon Atkinson, and four great granddaughters. He was the brother of Nancy Sprague and the late Gordon Atkinson.

Alan was a graduate of Classical High School and the University of Rhode Island. He was a lifetime active member of the Greystone Methodist Church and a master mason at the Roger Williams Masonic Lodge.

His funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 AM in the Greystone Methodist Church, 2 Oakleigh Ave, North Providence. Burial will be private. Calling hours in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence, Tuesday 5-7 PM.
