Adelaide Lombardi (Vallante), 92, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Sunday July 10, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family, and her close companion Lynda. She was a devoted wife to Carmine Lombardi for over 65 years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Marie (Solbrig) Vallante.
She leaves her loving daughter Sandra Church and her husband Stanley of North Providence, with whom she resided, and loving son Glen Lombardi and his wife Aliesha of North Kingstown; four grandchildren, Greg Brailsford and his wife Melissa from Cumberland, Jaclyn Dunn and her husband Roy from Branford Ct., David Lombardi and his wife Kristin from Chicago Il. and Derek Lombardi from Philadelphia, PA.; four beautiful great-grandchildren, Skylar, Cayson, Samantha, and Bryan; (and another great granddaughter on the way.) She was the oldest of four children and leaves her sister, Barbara Doughty and two brothers, Francis Vallante and the late Donald Vallante, along with many nieces and nephews.
Adelaide was an avid reader, she loved line dancing, playing cards, Trionimos, coloring and bingo. She sure did love her sweets. She was a kind and gentle person who loved her family. She loved sitting on the deck in the sun with a good romance novel. She enjoyed watching Netflix shows with her daughter whom she spent her last amazing years with. Addie always looked like the “Bell of the Ball” with her stylish clothes and jewelry. Often referred to in her younger years as Truck Driver Addie because she was one very tough and strong woman. She spent her younger years taking care of her children and grandchildren and worked in the jewelry manufacturing industry for many years. She loved going to the Senior Center and socializing with her friends.
Her funeral will be held Thursday at 11 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at Noon in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St., North Providence. Burial will be private. Calling hours Wednesday 5-7 pm. Flowers are welcome, or donations may be made to Butler Hospital or Hope Hospice
