Campbell, A. Munro, 90, of North Scituate, died on April 15, 2011 at Steere House Nursing Home. Born in Perth, Scotland, Mr. Campbell was the only child of Daniel and Jean Campbell. He was the beloved husband of the late Viola-Jean Suetterlein Campbell.
Mr. Campbell was a graduate of Moses Brown and Brown University, and received a Master's Degree from RI College. As an educator, he taught school at Foxcroft Academy in Dover Foxcroft, Maine, Narragansett, R.I., and was an administrator in the Scituate School Department. He was principal of the John F. Horgan School in West Warwick, retiring in 1983. He was a member of the National Principals' Association.
Mr. Campbell loved and served the Lord faithfully. He was an ordained deacon and elder of the Presbyterian Church. He served as Sunday School Superintendent for several years, taught Sunday school classes, served on mission, Christian Education and Personnel Committees and chaired the Pastoral Nominating Committee. He and his late wife gave much effort, time and prayer in helping to establish Faith Nursery School in Cranston.
Mr. Campbell is survived by his two children, Roy Campbell, Joyce Menna and her husband Fred, all of No. Scituate, two granddaughters, Meredith Correia and her husband Nuno of Greenville and Laura Menna of North Scituate, and one great granddaughter, Juliette Hope Correia.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday April 19th from 4-7 PM in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 20th at 1 PM at Faith Presbyterian Church, 499 Hope Rd, Cranston. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
